Overview
Vedanta Limited. (VL) puts a premium on operational excellence in all its plants. VL sets high standards and strives to adhere to these by forging partnerships with some of the world’s leading equipment suppliers.

VL is currently operating a 9 x 135 MW coal-based Captive Power Plant at Jharsuguda, which facilitates cost-effective power supply to its greenfield aluminium smelter, maximizing operational efficiency and enhancing functional superiority.
 
Eminent Suppliers
The Jharsuguda power plant sources its products from renowned manufacturers, who are market leaders in their respective domains. VL has entered into an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with SEPCO 111 of China, which supplies boilers, turbines and generators of Shanghai Electric Group Co Ltd, one of China's largest mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturers.

VL’s corporate partnerships bear testimony to its commitment to environmentally-sustainable business practices. The firm has procured environmentally-friendly GEHO pumps from Weir Netherlands, a leading global designer and manufacturer of pumps, for the power plant’s high concentration slurry disposal (HCSD) system. Distributed control systems (DCS) such as Foxboro and PLC have been sourced from Rockwell, Siemens and Schneider Electric, the world leaders in power, control and information solutions. VL has teamed up with several other companies to source the best equipments for the power plant and facilitate uninterrupted power supply to the Jharsuguda smelter.
